The old hazardous mining techniques of the past that claimed many lives are still in use today: the restrictive tunnels, flammable supports, lack of safety rails all too common.
At Zomberto, we are transforming the approach to mining by showing how implementing a focused safety approach can boost productivity.
At Zomberto, we are transforming mine safety. Gone are the days of narrow, restrictive mines shafts, flammable wooden supports, unsupported platforms, poorly lit areas, inadequate material transportation systems and many other safety failings! Each Zomberto employee is essential to us, and we invest in them to help them grow and feel part of the community we have created.
When Zomberto takes over an old mine our first step is to send in our special mine hazard team to assess the risks and to map the many twisting narrow mine shafts, so we have a complete understanding of what we face.
From here we locate an area to set up our base of operation and configure a portal that links back to our central hub so that we can quickly and safely transfer materials and workers to and from the new location.
We then carry out the process of sealing off all access routes from the surface into the old mine shafts, so creating a safe environment for the local communities that are above the old mine area.
It is then from here that we start to mine out what will become the main mining cavern. As we mine this out, we begin to build up the platform system and the material transport and sortation systems that will sort the material we mine, ready for easy transportation.
As our mining operation grows, we start to recruit employees from the local communities, providing them with training, protective equipment and high-quality mining tools so that they can work safely.
To enable our employees to work in a mine safely, Zomberto ensures a supply of protective clothing and high-quality tools along with a platform system that meets the high standards expected yet all items actively sourced from sustainable sources to meet our environmental targets.
